Wholesale Produce and Groceries for Afghan Grocers

Most wholesalers file you under "Middle Eastern" and stock accordingly. Half of what shows up doesn't move, because a generic label isn't a real order guide. Shaly Foods stocks the actual overlap: sour cherries, fresh herbs and citrus, Shamshiri tea, Shirin Asal biscuits and pashmak, alongside fresh produce your customers are actually asking for. Based in BC. Wholesale accounts only.

What changes when you switch

Sour cherries, herbs and citrus, sourced direct

Produce bought through a direct supplier relationship in Egypt, Turkey and the United States, not through a broker.

Tea, biscuits and pashmak by the case

Shamshiri tea and the full Shirin Asal range, sold wholesale by the case, not a token shelf-filler SKU.

Fresh when it lands

What's on the price list is what's actually landing this week, not a standing catalog with half of it out of stock.

Mix to reach the minimum, don't overbuy

$300 to $500 minimum, depending on area. Mix produce and packaged goods on one order to hit it, instead of loading up on one line you don't need.

What do you carry beyond the Persian list?

The overlap with the Persian range is real, but it isn't the whole order. Hami melons and Moon Drop and Champagne grapes both move on an Afghan shelf in a way a generic wholesaler never predicts. So do okra, fava beans, black and white eggplant, green and red hot peppers, and fresh mint, dill, parsley and coriander bought by the dozen bunch rather than the clamshell. Basmati goes out by the case on the same account.

Is there a minimum order?

Yes: $300 to $500, depending on your shipping area. Shaly Foods sells by the case and the pallet, mixed across produce and packaged goods on one account, so it's not a fixed single-SKU minimum.

Where does Shaly Foods ship?

Metro Vancouver on Shaly Foods' own trucks; BC Interior and Vancouver Island on scheduled routes; Alberta and the Prairies on refrigerated LTL and full pallets; Ontario and east for standing volume accounts.

How do I get current pricing?

Pricing isn't published, since the line sheet changes weekly with the season and shipping schedule. Request the current price list through the contact form and Shaly Foods will send what's actually landing, with pricing, usually the same business day.
