Fresh Produce for Persian Grocers: Sour Cherries, Herbs and Citrus
Shaly Foods supplies Persian and Iranian grocers with the produce your customers actually shop for: sour cherries, fresh herbs and citrus, sourced through direct supplier relationships in Egypt, Turkey and the United States, alongside the Shamshiri tea and Shirin Asal biscuits, wafers and pashmak your customers already reach for. Based in BC. Wholesale accounts only.
What changes when you switch
Sour cherries, herbs and citrus, sourced direct
Produce bought through a direct supplier relationship in Egypt, Turkey and the United States, not through a middleman adding a margin between you and the packhouse.
One order, not two suppliers
Shamshiri tea, Shirin Asal biscuits, wafers, cakes and pashmak on the same invoice as the produce. One truck, not two deliveries to coordinate.
Fresh when it lands, not sitting in a terminal
Sour cherries, herbs and citrus move through on the current shipment, not out of a backlog. What's on the price list is what's actually landing.
You order what your shelf needs
No fixed case count. Mixed pallets across produce and packaged goods on one account.
Do you carry Shamshiri and Shirin Asal products?
Yes, the full range: tea, biscuits, wafers, cakes, toffee eclairs and pashmak (Persian cotton candy), sold wholesale by the case.
Can you cover Nowruz and the spring window?
Nowruz is the single biggest week in a Persian grocery's year, and it runs on fresh herbs, sabzeh and citrus. Those are perishable and the window is fixed, so volumes get committed ahead rather than filled on the day. The spring window right behind it is a different list again: sour cherries, green almonds (chaghaleh badoom) and green plums (gojeh sabz). Ask for the current line sheet ahead of each, not during.
Is there a minimum order?
Yes: $300 to $500, depending on your shipping area. Shaly Foods sells by the case and the pallet, mixed across produce and packaged goods on one account, so it's not a fixed single-SKU minimum.
Where does Shaly Foods ship?
Metro Vancouver on Shaly Foods' own trucks; BC Interior and Vancouver Island on scheduled routes; Alberta and the Prairies on refrigerated LTL and full pallets; Ontario and east for standing volume accounts.
How do I get current pricing?
Pricing isn't published, since the line sheet changes weekly with the season and shipping schedule. Request the current price list through the contact form and Shaly Foods will send what's actually landing, with pricing, usually the same business day.
