Specialty Produce Supply for Grocery Chains in Canada
Shaly Foods Inc. imports fruit and vegetables direct from growers in Egypt, Turkey, Peru, Jordan, Mexico and the United States: mangoes, sour cherries and other specialty lines a chain's usual mainstream distributors don't carry or carry inconsistently. Based in BC, shipping Canada-wide today. Our accounts are independent grocers, so a chain starts with a trial order on one line and judges us on that.
What's actually true right now
What we bring
Direct sourcing in Egypt, Turkey and the United States, plus grocery lines (Shamshiri, Shirin Asal) mainstream distributors don't stock. Already shipping Canada-wide.
What we don't have yet
No existing chain account, no claimed certifications beyond what's actually held, no EDI or vendor-portal integration built.
The gap we'd fill
The ethnic and specialty aisle is usually the one a chain's main distributor covers thinnest. An addition where they're weakest, not a full replacement.
How this would start
Small, not a full rollout. A single-store trial or a limited SKU list, so both sides can see if the fit is real before either commits to more.
Have you supplied a grocery chain before?
Not yet. Shaly Foods' current accounts are independent specialty grocers across Metro Vancouver. This page exists because that's about to change, not because it already has.
Can you meet our vendor requirements (certifications, insurance, EDI)?
Tell us what's required and we'll answer directly, including where we currently fall short. No point promising compliance on a page and then working it out during onboarding.
Where does Shaly Foods ship?
Metro Vancouver on Shaly Foods' own trucks; BC Interior and Vancouver Island on scheduled routes; Alberta and the Prairies on refrigerated LTL and full pallets; Ontario and east for standing volume accounts.
