This policy explains what Shaly Foods Inc. does with information collected through shalyfoods.ca. We handle personal information under Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and British Columbia's Personal Information Protection Act.
What we collect
When you submit the enquiry form on this site, we collect the information you enter: your name, business name, email, phone number (optional), business type, region and any message you write. We don't collect payment or account credentials through this site; wholesale credit applications and account setup happen off-site, by phone or email, once you've made contact.
How we use it
We use enquiry form submissions to respond to you: sending current pricing and availability, and to set up a wholesale account if you go ahead. We don't sell, rent or trade your information to third parties. We may keep enquiry records to follow up and for our own business records.
Analytics, advertising and your consent
Analytics and advertising tools are switched off until you accept them. On your first visit a banner asks. Until you choose, Google Analytics 4, Google Ads and Microsoft Clarity run with storage denied under Google Consent Mode v2: no cookies, no advertising identifiers. Decline and they stay off. The site works either way.
If you accept and then submit the enquiry or vendor form, we also pass Google a one-way hashed version of the email and phone number you gave us, a Google feature called enhanced conversions. Hashing happens in your browser before anything leaves it; Google never receives the plain email address or phone number, and uses the hash only to match your enquiry to the ad you clicked. Decline cookies and none of this is sent.

Cookies and local storage
Two things are stored on your device regardless of your answer, because the site needs them and neither is sent to us: your chosen language, and your consent choice itself. Both use localStorage, not cookies. Everything else waits for your consent.
Where your enquiry goes
Enquiry form submissions are stored in our customer database, hosted by Supabase, and are read by Shaly Foods staff handling your account. We do not sell, rent or trade your information. We share it with a service provider only where that provider is doing something for us, such as hosting, and only to the extent needed.
Data retention
We keep enquiry and account records for as long as reasonably needed for the business relationship and our legal and accounting obligations.
Your rights
You can ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, subject to what we're required to keep for legal or accounting reasons. Contact us using the details on the contact page.

Governing law
