Cardamom
Black tea blended with cardamom. The blend most Persian households drink daily, and usually the first one to empty off a new shelf.
Shaly Foods Inc. supplies Shamshiri Persian tea wholesale to grocers, specialty markets and food service accounts across Canada. Three blends, loose leaf and teabag. Sold by the case from the Vancouver warehouse, trade accounts only.
Tea is a weekly repeat purchase in a Persian or Afghan household, so the shelf turns faster than almost anything else in the aisle. The three Shamshiri blends cover the range most shoppers reach for.
Black tea blended with cardamom. The blend most Persian households drink daily, and usually the first one to empty off a new shelf.
Unblended black tea, the base for a samovar pour. Stocked alongside cardamom rather than instead of it, since most homes keep both.
Bergamot black tea. The crossover blend, and the one that moves in mixed-market stores where the customer base is not only Persian.
The same blends come in three formats, and which one you stock depends on how your shelf is set, not on which tea you want.
The shelf-facing format. Tins hold their shape in a stack and survive being handled, which matters on a busy aisle.
Lower unit cost than the tins. For stores that sell tea by weight, or price down against a tinned facing on the same shelf.
For cafes and restaurants pouring by the cup, and for the convenience buyer in a grocery store who is not brewing loose leaf at home.
Persian, Afghan and wider Middle Eastern grocers carry all three blends. Mixed-market and mainstream independents usually start with cardamom and Earl Grey, then add Persian black once the facing proves itself. Restaurants and cafes tend to take teabags only.
Tea sits on the same account as the rest of the Shaly Foods line, so a case of tea can travel on the same order as Basmati rice, Shirin Asal biscuits and wafers and fresh produce.
Yes. Shaly Foods carries Shamshiri Persian tea as case-pack wholesale, shipped from its Vancouver base to retail and food service accounts across Canada. Trade accounts only.
Cardamom, Persian black and Earl Grey. All three are stocked as standing lines rather than seasonal ones.
Both. Loose leaf comes in metal tins and in bulk bags, and teabags are stocked alongside them. Most grocery accounts take loose leaf; most restaurant and cafe accounts take teabags.
Yes: $300 to $500, depending on your shipping area. Everything is sold by the case, and the minimum is counted across the whole account, so cases of tea sit on the same order as produce, Basmati rice and anything else you stock through us.
No. Wholesale accounts only: grocers, specialty markets, restaurants and distributors buying to resell or serve. Shaly Foods does not sell single cases to individual shoppers.
Pricing is not published here, because the line sheet moves with stock and the shipping schedule. Ask for the current price list through the contact form and Shaly Foods sends it back, usually the same business day.
Metro Vancouver on Shaly Foods' own trucks; the BC Interior and Vancouver Island on scheduled routes; Alberta and the Prairies on LTL and full pallets; Ontario and east for standing volume accounts.
